Portal commissions only on guests who actually showed up

Hotels, B&Bs, vacation rentals on Booking

A Booking guest doesn't show up and nobody reports it in time: at the end of the month you pay the commission anyway. It also happens with a cancellation that was recorded wrong. It's a few euros at a time, and nobody has the time to check the portal's invoice line by line.

What you check

Similar cases

The same automation logic applied to other kinds of business:

1Vacation rentals on Airbnb and Booking with guests who cancel at the last minute
2Farm stays that get bookings from several portals and from agencies
3B&Bs that want to know every month how much they really pay in commissions

Frequently asked questions

Does it report the no-show to Booking by itself?

No. You make the report on the extranet, or from the channel manager if it allows it, after your yes. The system tells you who, on which portal and until when you can do it.

How does it know who actually arrived?

From the registration slips sent to the Questura, which say who slept at your place. If you don't use the registration slip flow, from the check-ins logged in the property management system.

Does it need a connection with Booking?

No. Bookings are read from the channel manager and the invoice is downloaded from the extranet or arrives by email. Deadlines and ways to dispute are those in your contract with each portal and need to be verified.

What if a guest is in a room without a registration slip?

It's the first thing you see: the slip must be sent within 24 hours of arrival, so that alert comes before the one about the commission.
