Trattoria, restaurant with foreign customers

The menu is printed and laminated: when a price changes you fix it in pen, and redoing the whole thing costs time and a trip to the printer. The tourist at the table doesn't know what tortellini in brodo are and calls the waiter, who explains it ten times a night while the other tables wait.

What you check

Frequently asked questions

What if it misreads a price?

When it can't read a price with certainty it doesn't write one: it turns it into a question. Until someone answers, that dish doesn't appear on the customers' menu. In our tests, with photos read in tiles, a 6-page menu had 66 prices out of 66 read correctly, but the owner's confirmation still comes before publishing.

Does the system write the allergens?

No. You declare them, dish by dish, choosing from the 14 allergens set by EU rules. The system doesn't deduce them from the name or the ingredients, and a dish with no declared allergens is never presented as "free from" anything.

Can the translations be corrected?

Yes. A translation you correct stays yours. If you later change the Italian text of that dish, a new translation proposal arrives that you approve or reject. Traditional names, like tortellini in brodo, stay in Italian with the explanation below.

If I change a price, do I have to reprint the QR codes?

No. The QR address never changes: you update dishes, prices and sold-out items from your phone and customers see the new version right away. The PDF with the table QR codes is printed once; the physical stand is arranged with the printer.
