Answer requests for quotes before your competitors

Metal fabrication and contract manufacturing

A 22-page specification arrives. To reply you have to recall from memory a similar job in the management system, retrieve the price, ask the shop foreman for lead times and check stock. Three days go by, and when the quote goes out the customer already has two others on the desk.

What you check

Similar cases

The same automation logic applied to other kinds of business:

1Precision machine shops with requests based on drawings
2Plastic or rubber molding with batch quotes
3Catalog parts: the same processing starts from a form on the website

Frequently asked questions

Does the AI also read the drawings?

It summarizes the text of the specification and flags unusual clauses, like penalties or long warranties. Dimensions and tolerances on the drawings are checked by your technician: today an AI isn't reliable enough to sign off on that reading.

What if we've never made a similar part?

The system doesn't make up a price. It sends the shop foreman the summary with the questions about lead times and equipment, and the quote stays without a price until he answers.

Does it work with our management system?

The job history is read from the management system or from an export. With SAP and TeamSystem we use their connections; with other systems it's checked case by case. Material and processes need to be in readable fields, not only in free-text notes.

Who signs the quotes?

Always a person. Below the threshold you decide, the sales rep is enough; above the threshold or with unusual clauses, the director is needed too.
